Organizing, planning and holding a banquet was a major challenge for all of us during our first half of the semester here at SHMS. Our goal was to stage a banquet for 90 guests, offering a three-course menu accompanied by entertainment taking place in an environment whereby the guests fell as though they are taking part in the Chronicles of Narnia. We put a lot of expectations into the banquet and even though, from our point of view they have not been totally met, the guests however were delighted and enjoyed the evening and the atmosphere, whereby we achieved our major goal. Looking back over the past few weeks, working together with a team consisting of more that 50 nationalities was very interesting and challenging at the same time. Being the banquet manager meant a lot of responsibility and the major asset for my future is that I have had the chance to learn how to deal with people from different cultural backgrounds with various behaviours and attitudes.
