Graduation rounded off a fantastic semester for HIM students and staff.
The semester was one of our most successful. We had a very active Student Ambassador Forum who brought added value to our daily lives in HIM. Ms Wendelin our Bar & Beverage Lecturer organized a series of master classes! Students and staff had the opportunity to sample whiskey, cigars, beers from Germany, showmanship with cocktails and champagne workshops leading to 2 students going to champagne for an all expenses trip! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_DUwFEUQog&playnext_from=TL&videos=R-o1lUNXGyY
Academically the students have worked hard this semester. Year 1 students worked hard in service and have been rewarded with a variety of excellent internships, Year 2 banquets were creative, colorful and fun, Year 3 raised over CHF1200 for Yaowawit School in Thailand (http://www.childrensworldacademy.com/), BBA had excellent performances in global strategy competitions. The Best-Strategy Invitational is a global competition among high-performing GLO-BUS companies from around the world. Any student-team finishing in 1st place in the GLO-BUS simulation conducted at their college receive an invitation to participate in the Best-Strategy Invitational. The HIM BBA4 team Lacet - Fotorama came 2nd in their Industry which consisted of 11 teams from around the world!! Our MBA Program is also developing nicely with 15 students graduating in June.
As we come to vacation time, excitement is already building for the HIM Alumni Event which will coincide with Jazz festival in July 2011. Details can be found on our alumni website.
